TORQSENSE Transducers are the world’s first low cost non-contact rotary torque transducers designed specifically for industrial OEM applications.

Traditionally rotary torque is difficult and expensive to measure, but, by using existing technology in a novel way, transducers can be produced for situations where condition monitoring or control of drive mechanisms is required.

In viscosity applications the transducer is mounted inline with the paddle drive shaft, and measures both the speed and driving torque of the paddle stirring the mixture. This enables measurements to be made of the relative viscosity of either small scale laboratory mixes or full scale production quantities, and is suitable, for example, for use in process control situations where ingredients are added to the mix until a desired viscosity is achieved. Monitoring of slurry, chocolate and cement mixes are among current applications.

The transducers are small, and feature high resolution and accuracy, and excellent noise immunity.
