Progen Scientific has recently launched the Accumax PipetHelp Pipette Controller at the price of just £95 for a limited period. Progen Scientific is an established supplier of Accumax
products and this latest innovation further expands the range even further. The Accumax PipetHelp Pipette Controller from Progen Scientific is an ergonomically designed controller with soft grip push buttons to ensure stress free pipetting. There are numerous features including: a powerful yet quiet pump;
two different speed modes high and low, as well as gravity drain; the pump speed can also be fine tuned by varying finger pressure on operating push buttons for control of speed;
and safety, non-return, valve and hydrophobic filters provide double protection against fluid penetration.

Handheld clone picking tool

Progen Scientific is pleased to introduce the Schuett PickMaxX handheld clone picking tool. The PickMaxX is the fast, inexpensive, more efficient alternative to toothpicks. This handheld device can be used for manually transferring cell colonies to multiwell plates (96- or 384-well) as well as a manually operated inoculating device. The PickMaxX gives unerring picking i.e. for specific individual colonies. The product has a host of features including: simultaneously 24 clones may be transferred to the buffer solution (12 when using the 96-well plates); high working efficiency compared to using toothpicks; low
cost version of a picking robot; immediate intuitive operation, ergonomically balanced handling for minimised operator fatigue; and
sterile, disposable, flexible combs are used for picking colonies.

Gel electrophoresis systems

Progen Scientific is delighted to announce that they have secured exclusive access to the brand new Labnet ENDURO Gel Systems. The ENDURO horizontal and vertical gel electrophoresis sets are the latest addition to the Labnet range
of competitively priced electrophoresis products. Convenience and safety were high on the list of the design of the
ENDURO line. Some of the features for the horizontal tanks include rubber end gates for tapeless casting, UV transparent
gel tanks and trays and easy to replace electrode cassettes. The unidirectional safety lid fits only one way, ensuring proper connection of the power leads and prevents the flow of power through the cell unless the lid is firmly attached. Additionally the gel box is moulded, eliminating the possibility of leaks.
