Labcold expands again
British owned Labcold, the UK’s largest specialist manufacturer of scientific, medical and laboratory refrigeration products has recently doubled its factory area. At the same time the company has hired additional engineers and office staff whilst launching completely redesigned ranges of its Blood Banks and Pharmacy Refrigerators. The company puts its success down to a combination of factors including its specialist focus only on professional refrigeration equipment, constant product updating to meet current and future requirements, a technically qualified sales team providing pre-sales advice and its own team of maintenance/service engineers. All this combined with a 100% customer-focus and absolute flexibility in meeting market needs.

Fridge over troubled water
Inappropriate refrigerators, often domestic designs, used in laboratories have been the cause of potentially fatal explosions. Minimising the risk of fire through appropriate handling and storage of any potentially flammable materials, as well as the installation of proper electrical equipment, is of paramount importance. Labcold, with over 40 years experience, has introduced one of the first ever ‘spark-free’ refrigerators. Labcold’s spark-free range, including a novel high-performance fan circulated, model demonstrates the company’s innovative approach to product development and ongoing commitment to establishing a safer workplace. The fan circulated spark-free model uses an externally mounted motor, driving the fan blades via a shaft that passes into the spark-free chamber.

Cube or flake?
The new Labcold-ITV icemakers offer optimum performance together with a practical and stylish design. Both the Ice Maker “ ake” and Ice Maker “cube” versions are low maintenance and available in a variety of sizes for use in laboratories and medical facilities. Elegantly constructed from stainless steel, the exterior is robust, yet pleasing to the eye and is surprisingly compact in size, particularly the LITVIQ135 model. Internally, the ice storage and collection bins are manufactured from strong foam plastic materials, ensuring excellent thermal insulation. The Flake version produces akes that are extremely regular in size and suitably soft making them ideal for medical applications. The alternative CUBE icemaker actually produces cylindrical shaped ice, each cylinder being approximately 40g.
